The Jersey Shore Festival Welcomes Inaugural “Showdown at the Shore” Amateur Boxing Event to Seaside Heights, May 21st

Seaside Heights, NJ (May 21, 2016) – HITM Promotions, will be presenting their first amateur boxing match, Showdown at the Shore, Saturday, May 21st at the Jersey Shore Festival, in Seaside Heights, NJ.  Showdown at the Shore will be held at 4:30PM on the beach within the footprint of the festival, free to all attendees.

This newly added amateur fight, Showdown at the Shore will bring some of the greatest talent in amateur boxing from all over the Tri-State Area to Seaside Heights.  HITM Promotions shared that they “are very excited to bring boxing to the Jersey Shore Festival this year and look forward to working with them again in the future.”

When asked about the line-up of talent they will be presenting on May 21st for Showdown at the Shore, HITM Promotions said, “we know that Jackie Atkins, our matchmaker has been working extremely hard to match up exciting fights for the show, and we’re happy to give the amateurs such a stage to showcase their talent and skills. We know they work just as hard as the fighters on our professional shows.”

Undefeated Professional Heavyweight Boxer, 6x Professional Heavyweight MMA Champion, and HITM Promotions fighter, “Brutal” Brendan Barrett of Little Egg Harbor, will be in attendance at the open workout following the fights that Saturday evening at 7PM. He will join fighters from all over the area such as 1x Lightweight/2x Featherweight MMA Champion “Relentless” Jeff Lentz, local undefeated fighter Darryl “Dream King” Bunting, and local favorite Mike Ruiz to meet the press and fans ahead of their June 4th professional boxing event in Toms River – Un-Caged: Out of the Cage and Into the Ring. Unfortunately 3x Golden Gloves Champion Chayanne “Warpath” Rivera will not be at the open workouts. Instead he will be in Salt Lake City, Utah going after his last National Amateur Championship before he makes his professional debut on June 4th.

There is a hope that Hafiz “Big Dawg” Montgomery and Dave “Hollywood” Valykeo, New Jersey natives, will both be present at the open workout since they will be fighting on the card June 4th. Their online war via social media, has come to be known as The Shore Civil War - Monmouth County vs. Ocean County. Fans can’t wait to see these two men take to the ring on June 4th. We may have to bring extra security to keep the separated if they both show up to the open workouts because they are both out for blood.

This will be the ninth year Jersey Shore Festival will bring 35,000+ attendees to Seaside Heights for this three-day event. The Festival features music, a variety of sporting events, and a vendor village, all free to patrons.
